Five year old race horse Green Agenda had been having multiple problems in hind and fore limbs. He came up lame behind on a number of occasions but problems seem more apparent on the near hind. MRI investigation had proven inconclusive and the next stage was Scintigraphy.  Left fore suffered with a seedy toe and was treated by the farrier three weeks ago. Multiple Issues That All Needed Attention

This 10 year old cob, Jazz had been suffering from multiple issues that his owner and trainer were finding difficult to locate. They were trying to decide whether to push Jazz on during training but they knew he just was not right. 

This study is over a period of one month and consists of a baseline scan and a follow up.

 

Laminitic Pony

Nancy was a beautiful Welsh section C pony that had lots of talent before suffering with a bout of laminitis in May 2009. Pony has been intermittently lame in front feet  and X-rays showed slight movement to the left pedal bone but she was expected to make a full recovery. Farrier took off her normal shoes and pony became crippled so heart bars went on and she slowly started to improve.
After being sent for rehabilitation for six weeks in September 2010 she came back sound but once started light work and small jumps were too much and she became lame. Read more »

Back Pain

Aqua is an 8 year old Westphalian that has been competing in dressage to a high level until his owner started to notice tension thoughout the back.

Poor Saddle Fit

This dressage horse had been suffering with recurring back problems for some time. Problems were thought to be in the wither area so injections were administered just over six months ago. Owner believes that horse is uncomfortable during training and tends to bring his back up in the initial few minutes of exercise.

 

Pain Issues

Pony has not been moving well during training and seems very uncomfortable. After inconclusive investigation owner and trainer are not sure what to do next. They are debating whether to continue to work her as they are worried she is in pain. Owner would also like to review her saddle fit.

Muscular Dysfunctions Affecting Performance

8 year old Hanoverian Cross, Whizz had been suffering from a slight lameness and suspected back issues for some time. Owners Abby & Dawn called Equiscan to look for more information that may assist their treatment plan.

Poor Saddle Fitting

This horse was a 10 year old eventer that has competed to a high level. His owner felt that his neck was slightly stiff on the right hand side and seems slightly uncomfortable during training. There was no obvious signs of a poor saddle fit and his owners needed to move forward with a treatment plan.
