Preparations for screening
- Screening area - normally your horses stable is suitable for the screening to take place, we can discuss this with you at the time of booking.
- Your horse needs to be rested in its stable for 45 minutes prior to us arriving.
- Horses need to be thoroughly clean and dry. Grooming should be done no later than 1 hour before screening as this can affect the test.
- All bandages, traveling boots and rugs need to be removed 30 minutes prior to testing, please inform us if your horse wears magnetic boots.
- Avoid the application of any liniments/creams for 24 hours.
- Tail to be bandaged up if possible and mane to be loosely plaited.
- Bedding to be either removed from stable or banked.
- If your horse has long feathers please inform your Thermographer.
Please note: If the horse is wet/damp when Equiscan arrive, screening cannot commence as this will affect results. Damp coats will limit the amount of infra-red that can be detected. If your horse is living out and the weather is wet, you may need to bring him/her in the night before screening
