Results and Interpretation

The interpretation of DITI in anything other than the most basic studies requires experience and training. All results that Equiscan provide you with are interpreted and reported by our team of vets that have had extensive training in the interpretation of Thermology. We provide this service to busy veterinary practices so they can outsource this advanced professional and innovative approach to DITI interpretation.

Our team of physicians have all trained specifically as EMI Thermologists and have followed our intensive training programs to deliver objective results that will assist your diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. Correct interpretation is crucial to the relevance of your DITI results and reviewing done by eye is limited. The untrained physician reading a thermogram can often over analyse which can unfortunately lead to incorrect results.  Full training is a necessary protocol for all vets joining our team.

When our Thermographers comes to collect your thermograms this is only the start of our screening process. Your Thermographer will then take all data back to the office and adapt each scan into clinical protocol (this is a process that ensures clinical data is accurate) and then send thermograms through to the EMI team. Thermograms are placed on software panels for data mapping and our vets get to work. Images are viewed in a number of panels to ensure objective findings are being produced.

Results

Reports will include objective opinion, recommendation and information that will be helpful to you and your treating physician. We also archive all results and thermograms in our medical system for future analysis and treatment. Once you receive your DITI results we aim to work alongside you and your veterinary practitioner. Depending on your results, your first point of contact will be with either your vet or other trained health care professional.

Aftercare starts as soon as your report is completed. We will contact you to discuss your results and forward all information via medical server to your chosen physician. We can also arrange for your vet to discuss the results with Equiscan's reporting vet. If they are not familiar with medical DITI, we will forward them all the necessary information.

Equiscan already work with many vets and equine professionals that use our service on a regular basis, we are more than happy to contact your professional even before your screening takes place.
